I have used the 95Te Life Fitness treadmill multiple times at many places. This is a very popular machine. My first experience was a new machine at Hyatt Hotel. I have used it on our cruise fitness room. And most recently I walked into our friends’ house and saw they bought a remanufactured 95Te. They love it. I already knew I did but of course I used this remanufactured machine many times at their house. This is an expensive machine even remanufactured - $4,000+ depending on where you buy it. Basic Information:

Note: you can get a new Te model (not listed as the 95Te), which may be slightly different but it is by Life Fitness. I am going to try to find it but runs under $3,000 and comes with a good warranty.

The 95Te weighs a heavy 436 pounds. Don't expect to be moving it when you have guests over. It measures 64 inches high by 37 inches wide by 83 inches long. The maximum user weight is 400 pounds.

The belt or walking/running surface is 60 inches long by 20 inches wide. If you run and you tend to not run in a straight line the width becomes an issue. I am more concerned with the length because I don't like hitting the front of treadmills. I find the 95Te very comfortable to walk on. The sides of the belt have a really nice tread.

The 95Te has the Flex Deck Shock Absorption System. Life Fitness tells us that this System should reduce shock and impact to the knees, back, and joints by nearly 30% compared to other treadmills. It was very comfortable. Remember we are looking a top of the line and pricey treadmill. I really feel that the belt is very smooth and the machine is quiet. On the cruise and in the hotel the machine(s) get a lot of use. They were in great condition in spite of that. Our friends’ machine looks brand new.

There is a middle bar with heart rate sensors and buttons for the most-used controls. The most used controls are a nice feature and for the money you want as many features as possible. Having the controls near the heart rate sensors make monitoring my heart rate easy because I don't have to move my hand very far from the sensors to change my pace. This machine has no chest strap to monitor your heart rate so you will be depending on the sensors. You can buy a chest strap if that is something you really want.

There are two integrated water bottle holders, a magazine rack and another space in the middle for my keys.

The console:

The console is huge and shows me my elapsed time, speed, distance, incline, calories, heart rate, distance climbed, watts, mets, and custom messaging.

The machine inclines 0 to 15% and the speed goes from .5 to 12 miles per hour, which is more than enough for even the elite athlete.

It has an amazing 28 workouts including workouts called Zone Training, which include cardio and hills; interval workouts which include hills; and speed interval training,

Goal Workouts gives me my goals of calories, distance and time in my own zone. I always like interval training. This means that the machine adjusts itself to various levels and speeds depending on the difficulty level I choose. These levels can be changed at any time during a workout.

I have used both the distance and calorie goal programs. Once I hit my goal the machine goes into a cool down phase. I like the heart rate interval workout, which takes my heart rate from hills and 80% of my maximum heart rate (220 minus your age will get you your maximum heart rate.) to valleys and 65% of my heart rate maximum. 

Let's use a program:

One workout I do is cardio. I choose it and hit enter. I then put in my weight and hit enter; time and hit enter; age and hit enter and at this point the machine shows me my target heart rate and what my speed would be. The elevation changes to reach my target heart rate and prompts me to put my hands on the heart rate sensors when it want to know my heart rate (custom messaging).

The television:

This machine has what is called an "E3 Integrated LCD System which is FM radio-ready, and has up to 125 available TV channels." This feature is a lot of fun and very easy to use. My gym has machines with TV channels but if you buy a machine for your home, it is really nice to have this feature on it. I can pick channels and make the sound louder or softer. This feature is worth the money the machine costs!

You would never get bored with the 95Te. It's a great machine and a lot of fun. It doesn't have fans that some less expensive machines have but it's certainly a 5 star machine.
