One of the really good units by line6.
This happened to be my guitar instructor's processor.... and i myself have used it in many gigs.
So gotta admit , It sounds fantastic and the sound is not too artificial, you can do alot of different things with this unit from Live, studio, rehearsals, jamming and delivering your tone on the spot.
It has 10 times more Amp ranges than the previous line6 versions XT, X3 mainly cause its more advanced.
Its a remastered and improved version of HD300. Though HD500 is way
more better than this one..

(1) Tone- Tone is Amazing.! good for Rock, metal and fusion stuffs. You get a full pro sound in this. Clean tone is the best. Distortion is not at all bad.
Effects are Too good onstage and are not like 'plastic'. All types of genres can get the value of tones they need, ranging from deathmetal ,heavy metal, hard rock to pop and classical fusion.
Once you master the usage of EQ settings you can work wonders with this unit.
(2) Built- No worries if dropped or during travel. Its really tough and the outer body is like a turtle shell. Really hard to get it damaged.
(3) Simple interface onstage- Its buttons and switches arent very complicated like some of the units like the floor pod x3. Quick to use and easy to switch.
(4) USB interface- Helps to quickly save patches and make changes with a few click on the computer. Usb is also quite helpful when it comes to recording in studio and also at home.
(5) Company updates are quite quick.
BADS -
(1) Price- Bit high priced . As other units in same price range are way better. put a little bit more you get the hd500 of line6 which beats it hands down.
(2) Complex to set- You reaslly need to have good patience and piece of mind to get the correct tone out of this unit. Unlike the zoom processors it takes quite some time and can get confusing at times when you are 'making a preset'. It really can get though to adjust at once. So reading the manual helps a lot.
(3) Noisy- ok the distortion and tones are good ONCE You make it. the Company in-built presests dont sound too great and produce a lot of noise [which can be reduced using the noise gates].
(4) Tones and effects sometimes get ruined by the amp or cabinet used. Cabinet emulation and air should be turned off for better results.
(5) IS a bit heavy and hard to carry.
