| rjcalnan's Full Review: Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel and Spa |
Okay - so we live 2 hours from Niagara Falls, yes I know, you're ALL jealous. Rigggghhhtt??? lol
My wife and I decided to take a night away from the boy and went to N.F. for a quick night of drinking, gambling, and more drinking.
The hotel was "supposed" to be first rate, great everything.
Well, as I quickly found out, it was only first rate if you were staying there MORE than one night. It was mentioned multiple times that we were "only" staying for one night whenever I asked about things like a shuttle to the further away Casino (I could get free shuttle tickets if I were staying longer)
The staff had zero interest in taking care of us. Part of me thinks it's because we booked through Expedia and they have a special set of crummy rooms *just* for Expedia reservations.
Anyway - I digress.
The room, awful. The fallsview was not like they showed on their web site or Expedia's site at all. I would consider it half-fallsview. In other words, instead of having a full open window where we could put chairs and just relax, we had a wall half way up, and a window the other half. So we had to stand if we wanted to see the falls. Lying in bed or sitting in a chair we had a wonderful "walls-view" - lol How nice.
The "connected" walkway to the Casino. Not connected at all. The only connection was by a walkway and sidewalk. Basically pavement and concrete. In that case, I guess my house is "connected" to the Casino too. When something advertises "connected" that usually means inside, no need to wear a coat, etc... NOPE! Not in this case, connected meant "walk outside in the cold bums, and enjoy it - it's a half mile away!"
Total garbage.
The only PLUS was that it was really close to the new Casino and some good restaurants. Otherwise, it was a LONG walk to Clifton Hill and the old Casino.
Overall, no WAY do I recommend this one and if you're going to stay there anyway just be SURE you don't get a room that's on the 500 level!
