| protonsmom's Full Review: New Otani Hotel & Garden |
Spent last night there and attended a wedding in their garden with a reception at their banquet hall.
Parking was a issue. Nothing over 6 feet tall will fit in their garage and I had two mountain bikes perched on top of my Ford Focus. Staff was happy to store the bikes for us but I have to say it was inconvenient to have to remove them just for a one night stay. Parking cost us almost $20 for valet, one night. Wow.
The room was small but well appointed. Coffee maker and hair dryer were included. I have always thought it a bit odd to keep the coffee maker in the same room as the toilet but maybe that is just me?
Bed was very comfortable and since we had just come from 4 days of camping it was heaven.
Our mini bar was missing for some reason. I opened the cabinet and just found a hole where it should have been.
Even though it is in the middle of LA it was quiet in the room. We were on the 18th floor but our view was just of a ugly gray building next door.
The garden is a nice touch. Peaceful except for the sounds coming from the street below.
As for the wedding, they put on a great ceremony and reception. For a small wedding it was well done. Food was great too.
