Pros: Convenient to Airport and most LA destinations; good rates
Cons: No room when I arrived with a reservation
The Bottom Line: There must be better hotels for the business traveler at LAX.

| dkarmol's Full Review: Sheraton Gateway Hotel Los Angeles Airport |
When I arrived- late on a Thursday night- after my flight had been delayed, the desk clerk informed me they had no more rooms.
This in spite of the fact that I had a reservation, through a package, and when they knew what airline flight and time I was scheduled to arrive on. It was 11:00 LA time, but 2:00am by my body clock, and I was not happy. But they did give me two free drink coupons, and sent me to the bar, where the service was very slow, unless you happened to be young, attractive and female. (I am none of the above.)
Once in the room, after midnight, I was treated to another couple knocking on my door, who had apparently been assigned the same room. The desk called, and asked who I was, and finally seemed to get it resolved.
Fortunately, the rest of the stay got better. The concierge and doorman, after initially saying they did not have a package my office said had been delivered the day of my arrival, they found it and delivered it promptly. They were also quick to retrieve my call, and answer any questions. In addition, to assuage my feelings over not having a room for me, they gave me coupons for a free breakfast for all three days of my visit.
The breakfast buffet, with fresh omelets, and just about anything else you could desire, was excellent, and the service quite good.
The exercise room is not very large, and the treadmills were often all in use. The other equipment was meager. The pool was basic, but allowed for afternoon sun, and so suited my purposes.
One complaint_ for a business hotel, they had only a slow 26k connection to the internet available in rooms. In the business center, there were two computers, but no way to plug your portable into a high speed line, that I could determine.
Not good for a business hotel.
Overall, not a bad experience, for a basic business type hotel.
