Pros: Beautiful landscaping. Close to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.
Cons: Not a luxurious room. Be prepared that it's just a room showing some age.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend here if you get a great rate, get attraction tickets, and aren't worried about the room itself too much.

| coreneseaver's Full Review: Paradise Point Resort & Spa |
We live in Central California and wanted a "quick" vacation so opted for Paradise Point because Expedia.com gave us a great deal that included tickets to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. I wasn't impressed with the rooms which are basically individual bungalow units. I thought it would be more lush and luxurious considering the prices during the off season was still pretty high. Nothing is free not even the bottled water in the room, it was like five dollars or something crazy like that. The rooms are starting to show some wear with some rust spots on the tub and even some gnats. I wasn't happy with that at all but I was already there. Now the pool was gorgeous! It was made to look kind of like an island with sand on the bottom and it was heated! The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were gorgeous. I think it was a bit expensive but if you get a good deal on some of these internet sites like we did (we did best with expedia.com which even gave us a better rate than hotels.com) then it's worth it - just don't get your hopes up too much. This sounds like a bad review but really it isn't meant to be. It is a beautiful, beautiful hotel. It's just when I thought of a 4 star resort I thought of rooms like the Marriott or something and this is an older hotel that is just getting up there in years. It's still a gorgeous resort with a great staff.
