A safe, clean option close to transit/atrractions
Written: Mar 19 '08
Pros:Location, views, clean
Cons:pricey
I stayed at the (Westin) Argent Hotel in July of 2007 for 4 nights (Sunday through Wednesday). The rate was for a conference and was $160/night.
We were originally assigned a room facing the Mission District but were craving a skyline view. We called down to the front desk and they immediately switched our room to a 29th floor room overlooking the skyline (and even glimpses of San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz.
Rooms have floor to ceiling windows that prevented city sounds for entering the room. We were also unable to hear neighboring guests or even people in the hall (our room was toward the end of the hall so that may have helped).
The front desk and doormen were always helpful. The room was cleaned thoroughly each morning.
And the location couldn't be beat. Just one block south of Market Street, you are within walking distance of the financial district, bus, MUNI, BART (subways), Union Square, cable cars, and the Embarcadero/Ferry Terminal.
