I now live in Naples, FL and have been to this Ritz many times, not only at times when I returned to my house about 15 minutes away but as a full-time guest while I still lived over the Atlantic Ocean. I had visited multiple hotels in Naples, and found this Ritz Carlton on the beach, and the Ritz Carlton golf resort to be my two top choices. This hotel is big, it is a very nice hotel and is what you would expect from a Ritz Carlton, you get what you pay for.
The first impression you get when driving into the hotel area is that it is a very tall and not very pleasant building, but to distract from that you have a person waiting to take your car and luggage while you check in which I find to be great, even for a Ritz. We had a room on the Club-Level so I am not sure if everyone gets a drink as a greeting, but we did get one, and it was very pleasant. The check-in was fast and the staff was very friendly. Their computer systems seem to work fine, I remember once I was in Las Vegas and had troubles checking in because of the system malfunctioning and it was a long wait before I could finally get to my room, but no problems here, it was a fast, and smooth check in without any issues.
The room was great, as usual and what you would expect from a Ritz. It was spacious and had a view on the ocean, the only thing I didn't particulary like was that it was rather outdated/old-fashioned. I am a huge admirer of designer or contemporary hotels, but pretty much every Ritz is rather old so I didn't expect much of a contemporary modern feel anyways. The room was very clean, I couldn't find a thing I could have complained about. There were some small snacks waiting for us in the room which I found to be a pleasant surprise.
I can't tell you much about in-house dining as we went out for dinner onto Fifth Ave. which I definitely recommend, there are some great restaurants, and it's fun watching the people and cars go by as you enjoy a beautiful dinner. I am sure though that you can dine in very well and that the people there are very accommodating with your wishes.
The breakfast is as good as in any Ritz, great fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, eggs, everything one could wish for and indulge in at breakfast, again, friendly staff, a very clean environment, and good food, as you would expect.
Naples is a great city for vacation, especially in the winter, you can go to the beach, play on one of the many golf course which the concierge will make reservations for, and so much more, yet you have to watch out, going while a lot of people are on winter/spring or any other kind of break can be rather unsatisfactory, as this hotel is the Ritz in Naples where most families go so there will be a lot of young screaming kids running around, nothing against them, we were once young too, but it can be annoying sometimes.
The Spa is beautiful, the pool and whirlpool are clean and at a comfortable temperature, I don't know why you would use them if you are 30 seconds walking from the beach, but oh-well. Of course there is your typical spa amenities like sauna's massages etc.
The mattresses in the beds are very comfortable, I slept well on them even though I usually have issues sleeping in foreign mattresses, again very clean and comfortable.
The lobby area is great, you can just hang out if you want to, it is very relaxing and cool in terms of temperature, of course you can enjoy in-house wi-fi on any of your devices if you so wish.
The hotel does service the beach, so you are able to enjoy your fabvorite drink or cocktail, all while tanning in the Florida sun, watching dolphines swim by.
Overall a great hotel, can be crowded from time to time, but the staff is very friendly and the hotel is extremely clean. They have great amenities and are very close to the beach.
