| asti99's Full Review: Marriott Orlando World Center Resort |
This is one of my favorite places to stay. I visit Orlando yearly and I have to say this is an exceptional resort. I sometimes use Priceline.com and twice I have ended up here with $45.00 a night once off season and $65.00 a night in February.
We always park our car ourselves and yes this is a large resort and self parking is limited but each time we returned we were always able to find a spot. They do offer valet for an additional charge. The bell staff was excellent I by no means are a light traveler and they always have taken care of us.
When you walk in the lobby it is a large atrium like setting. There is a Starbucks and small shop to your right and the front desk to your left. The front desk is huge and they seem to have it staffed accordingly. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you need to buy any kind of attractions there is staff to help you with that as well.
The rooms are large with a desk and loveseat. One of my favorite things about this hotel is the balcony facing the pool. It is so relaxing and the view is awesome. The bathroom is large with another area outside with a sink and mirror. It makes getting ready a breeze. There is a nice size television and minibar. The beds are comfortable and housekeeping does a nice job cleaning the rooms.
The pool...oh how I love the pool. It is huge and has a waterfall with a hot tub beyond it. There is a kiddie pool off to the side and the cutest gazebo bar that has drinks and a nice tv to sit back and watch sporting events. There is a cabanna boy that hands out large size towels and a small store that carries all kinds of pool needed items in case you forgot your sunscreen at home. There is also a small waterslide off to the side. The landscape around the pool is breath taking and a small pond that has swans in it off to the side. The flowers are beautiful. "kudos" to the landscaping crew.
One of my favorite places is the sports bar. We are huge nascar fans ans are typically in town for the Daytona races. We can order some of the best foods around and catch qualifying or the Busch race. The hot dog is to die for. Don't misunderstand this is a sport's bar they have "sports" food. There are video games that surround the edge that are fun to play. Yes, I am 31 and still enjoy competing against my husband every now and then. :)
The breakfast buffet is very good. We typically stay for a week if not longer and you really only want to eat here a few times. The food can be a little heavy for everyday enjoyment. They have made to order omelets and waffles along with everything else you would expect a breakfast buffet to have.
If you are traveling to Orlando this is the way to go. I would try Priceline, however you can not be sure to stay at a particular place. The time before I got the Hilton right outside Disney's marketplace and really liked that as well, but I like the Marriott World Center more.
