The Hotel is expensive but has a lot of facilities for the tourist or business traveler alike. It is showing it's age and is (at April 2001) still undergoing renovation. The biggest disappointment particularly as a business user of this hotel who needed to work in the room during the day was that they are renting rooms immediately adjacent to the significant building works in other rooms making the room unusable during the day. The room I had was accessed every day by workmen going up and down past my window (on 11th floor) starting early in the morning, on a trestle and then several hours of hammer-drilling and banging from the room above ending in late afternoon. You can imagine how loud that is. Hotel staff reaction to my complaints about this was one of total disinterest and stonewalling, they offered me no other accomodation, no solutions and suggested I had to put up with it. On that basis alone I'd not consider going back - but that's just my opinion.

When it's finished it'll no doubt be a nice place to stay as far as infrastructure, though perhaps not worth the cost dependant on which of their many and varied room rates you manage to get - that I couldn't work out either (it seemed you could pay anywhere between $155 and $350 a night for the same room). Also watch out for the mandatory charges (like the resort fee) added to your bill that are on top of the basic room rate. My view is it's overpriced, overimpressed with it's own importance and just not very good value for money when there are plenty of alternatives in the vicinity.
