| noonles's Full Review: Marriott Orlando World Center Resort |
Our family went to the Marriott Orlando World Center Resort just before Christmas so we could hit the parks at Walt Disney World. We were expecting a nice place to rest our heads, but not much more. We were in for a big (but very good) surprise. This resort is HUGE, but rather than being sprawling and hard to maneuver, it is well laid out and more vertical than horizontal.
Breakfast in the main restaurant was ample, delicious, although a bit pricey. even my picky eater daughter was able to stuff herself to the gills before tackling the parks. This served as more of a brunch our case because no one needed to eat much for lunch, so we had more time for fun.
The children's activities were a lot of fun. There is a full schedule of stuff for the kids throughout the day, although parents are required to accompany their children. We took advantage of the sidewalk chalk and scavenger hunt, and everyone had fun. On check-in, both children received vouchers for free tokens in the arcade which had enough variety to keep everyone happy. My son loved the claw machines and the air hockey, and my daughter loved the trivia challenge and the racing game. And the best part, is that they weren't begging for quarters, so I finally felt okay with them trying some of the machines.
There a several pools, and it was even warm enough to use the one with the giant water slide during the day. There is an indoor pool that is open into the evening, even though the main pool closed at dusk. There are plenty of towels and a place to put yourself back together before reentering the hotel.
The rooms were spacious and luxurious. I'm not a fan of feather beds or feather pillows, so that was not my favorite part, but I'm sure they would accommodate those preferences if asked. The amenities were nice, and when I mentioned to the maid that my daughter loved the shower gel, she gave us a double supply.
Overall, a great experience and very close to the parks.
