Pros: Beautifully appointed hotel and spa on the beach.
Cons: $$$$$ - There is also not much to do in Palm Beach unless you golf.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this for a luxury traveler who is looking for sophisticated dining and activities. I would not recommend this for a younger, adventurous traveler.

| servin's Full Review: Four Seasons Palm Beach |
My husband and I had the good fortune to spend 5 days and 4 nights at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach in December 2000. I stress good fortune, because not only was the hotel exquisite - I was there for a business conference and therefore our trip was on expense account. This was a good thing, since the one drawback of this hotel is that it is very, very expensive. Our room rate was only $175, but that was a special rate for the conference I was attending. Room service for 2 for a salad, soup and an appetizer was around $60.
What We Liked
The Service
We liked just about everything. The staff throughout the hotel was very friendly. People ranging from the reception desk staff, to the spa staff to the housekeeping staff would stop, smile and greet us when they saw us, generally asking how our stay was. On our last day, the car we had arranged to take us back to the airport, was unable to start. We had only 45 minutes until our flight. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. Instead of calling us a cab, the hotel's security staff immediately offered to drive us to the airport in the hotel's van, free of charge. To me, that is exceptional customer service.
The Room
Our room was beautiful. It had a large, marble bathroom, with two fluffy turkish bathrobes that we basically lived in the entire stay. The room was very well appointed, with pale yellow walls and detailed moldings. We had a king sized bed, two comfortable easy chairs, a desk and a table. The room had a balcony with a view of the beach.
The Spa and Pool
The hotel spa was a fully equipped gym with about 10 different cardio machines, nautilus and free weights. The spa was impeccably clean. We worked out every day. The pool area was also beautiful. It overlooked the ocean. The pool staff provided you with a towel that fitted over your chaise (like a fitted sheet - these were great, you never had that annoying "My towel is moving" feeling).
What We Didn't Like
$$$
As I said above, this place is expensive. To me, it was too pricey for a vacation for ourselves.
Accessibility
We did not rent a car, which was a big mistake. There is nothing in walking distance of this hotel. In order to go shopping, we had to take a $15 cab ride to and from the shopping area. To go to a restaurant was also a $15 cab ride. If you go to this hotel, definitely rent a car.
Activities
Palm Beach is a pretty sedate area. There was not much in the way of nightlife or restaurants (at least not near our hotel.) We prefer a more up-beat type of place that has things to do in walking distance. This hotel and area also attracts an older crowd (we are 30-something).
I would recommend this hotel for someone who wants to be pampered in a luxurious environment, and does not mind the cost.
