Pros: Good price...if from Priceline
Cons: Bad price...if not from Priceline
The Bottom Line: I would stay here again...if the price is right, as the location is magnificent, and the rooms have come a long way!

| manofstone's Full Review: Hyatt Regency Chicago |
This is a hotel that is too large for its own good. Outside of that, it is fairly good. The recent renovations have helped a lot, and made the rooms feel a lot more tolerable. The location is fabulous, and definitely works well for business or pleasure. However, primarily, it is still a convention hotel. The in-room amenities are very nice (in-room safe, decent TV selections, good shower, good toiletries, etc.), but there is just not that much charm in the public areas.
The restaurants and bars are quite good, particularly the big bar on the second floor. The waitstaff are surprisingly attentive, even very late at night, and were quite interesting to talk with.
The issues come in if you are trying to get in or out in a hurry, as the lobby is on the second floor, the rooms are all far away, and well...it is big. Pricing is also an issue. I stayed at a Priceline rate, which made it much more palatable. I have stayed at business rates in the past, that were definitely worth it, considering what a good hotel city Chicago is. But if you can get a good deal, take it!
