| cjsbaby's Full Review: Hyatt Regency Chicago |
I stayed at the Hyatt Chicago with my 7 yr old son. It was his first time to Chicago and a very memorable one thanks to the Hyatt.
I used Priceline.com to reserve my hotel at a very reasonable rate ($50.00).
WE arrived late evening and the door staff/valet were very helpful. Although Valet parking is costly - $35/day you do have in/out privileges.
The desk staff really went above and beyond! My son excitedly told them this was a special MOMMY AND ME TIME trip and his first time to Chicago. He politely asked if we could see the lake from our room...she said I will see what I can do. Next thing I know she was directing us to the Regency club level (top floor) to a suite.
Our room was luxurious with lush fabrics and rich colors. Contemporary decor with beautiful original artwork. There were live plants in the room ( a nice touch for fresher air) and the room was spotless!
The view...well it was better than I ever expected. We had a riverfront and lake view (corner room) with floor to ceiling wall to wall windows.
The beds were comfortable with fluffy down bedding and lots of down pillows. The bathroom was equipped with lighted make-up mirror ( a nice touch) and high-end fixtures and shower head. I had instant hot water that remained a constant temperature with great pressure.
Room Service was fast and courteous, though very pricey. The food was mediochre, my son's cheesecake was delish! but my chocolate cake was stale. Portions were large.
Mini-bar prices were high too.
My only real complaint was that there was no pool/jacuzzi. They do have guest privileges at a nearby health club for a pricey $20.00 per day - no kids!
Clearly this is a business center geared for the executive, but for the price, my son felt like king for a day! And that's priceless!
