Pros: Great location. Excellent Staff. Very pretty rooms.
Cons: None really, but there is no pool.
The Bottom Line: HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Loved the location, staff, decor, rate and restaurant. You can't go wrong here, especially if you like creative (rather than chain) hotels!

I was a first time visitor to Chicago this past weekend. Was torn between staying at the Monaco or at one of the other larger hotels with better views. I ended up getting a really great rate at Quickbook.com ($119) so stayed at the Hotel Monaco. I can't say enough good things about this place!
The hotel is located in the Theater District and is walking distance to so much. We had a sightseeing boat tour that docked less than 5 mins from our hotel; the "L" stations were near by, there was a convenience store across the street -- great to buy snacks, sodas, etc.. for the room so you don't get tempted by the mini-bar! We walked to the House of Blues that is across the way from the Monaco.
The restaurant, Mossant, was also great. The food was very creative and the service was good as well. It was my birthday dinner and was perfect.
The rooms were gorgeous! The beds were the most comfortable I have ever been in. They had feather mattresses and feather pillows. The drapery was heavy and thick, and combined with the quietness of the hotel, and the heavenly bed we overslept and nearly missed out boat tour!
If you have a chance to stay here I would recommend it highly. The staff was so helpful and nice. The decor in the lobby is also very creative. It is a very nice hotel. There is a wine reception each evening in the pretty lobby.
In particular the concierge we had, John, had a great personality and knows the city well -- he sent us to all the right places for breakfast, pizza, and he also set up our sightseeing tour.
Highly recommended -- as is trying Quickbook.com for a good rate.
