I would recommend this hotel to anyone having a convention in the Chicago metropolitan area. Situated in the heart of Chicago's business district and the loop, the Palmer House is by far the most convenient and luxurious hotel to reside in during a business stay. From the moment you walk in, you are taken back to a time of luxury and elegance of French style. The hotel lobby is magnificent, featuring a meticulous ceiling fresco, marble and granite adornments and finely made lamps. The ballrooms, which I myself attended for a business meeting, are great! The Empire room, in particular, took me by total surprise. The entire room is done in themes of black and green, accented by gold leaf. Our meeting was lighted by two huge crystal chandeliers. The style was classic but had all the modern conveniences required for our convention. The catering was outstandingly organized. The rooms were wonderful. Although some of my colleagues had smaller rooms, mine was at the concierge level. The room included evening hors dourves and cocktails and breakfast. Be sure to request accommodations at the executive level! The room was huge but the lighting was somewhat too dark. Service is what you would expect from the Four Seasons Hotel. The only thing is that they're not so good at getting luggage to your room promptly. I am a business man and I rarely notice the room in which I stay in, but the Palmer House is a big exception. My next business trip will be at the Palmer House Hilton.
