Pros: Location; windows that open; nice meeting facilities; new bedding
Cons: Outdated bathrooms; lack of cleanliness; staff; overall condition
The Bottom Line: Stay somewhere else - for this amount of money, get a room at the Wyndham Boston in the financial district or anywhere else for that matter.

| stoltzfuz's Full Review: Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers |
I just attended a conference at the hotel and if you just passed through the lobby and attended the conference, you would think the hotel was nice, although not on the same level of a luxury hotel. But once you step off the elevator past the second floor, BEWARE - Chipping paint, stains on the carpet, and outdated bathrooms await you.
My room was large and was in a corner facing a busy intersection. That's the best thing I can say - there were stains on the carpet, chair & linen; my bathroom had a crooked florescent light, blue laminate vanity top and a white laminate cabinet that was chipping to reveal the particle board underneath; and, the bathtub had recently been outfitted with a tub fitters unit (over the existing tub) and not very well at that. There was missing molding and chipping paint throughout the room. The fan/heater made a noise when I turned it on and produced a mildew smell. PS - no separate modem connection in the rooms. Either unplug your phone or use the business center - see below for my comments. And forget about figuring out how to use the phone and room voicemail - there are no instructions anywhere.
Because I attended a conference that had booked a large group of rooms, I had the opportunity to hear from other people about their rooms. I am not alone- everyone I spoke to had chipping paint, awful bathrooms, and others had really small rooms (picture your college dorm room). Only one person I spoke to had a decent room.
Outside of your room, don't expect anything fancy from either the business center or the gym. The business center consisted of two computers hastily thrown on room desks and a printer - that's it. Think of the line for a conference of 300! The gym was useless - 3 out of 4 of the treadmills did not function (one conference attendee told me she tried to plug one in and the cord produced a spark).
Hotel is also difficult to get to if you're driving. Boston has a lot of one way streets and it's located at an intersection with three of them (five streets total). I drove around the block twice until I found the valet.
