I showed up at the Palazzo on 12/24/08 for a 3 night stay. I had called earlier in the week since I saw that the internet price from a package was lower than the old room only rate I had signed up for. The person on the phone said she changed the reservation. I got an e-mail with the new rate, but it did not say that it was for a package.
When I got to the front desk, they tried to check me in at the old rate. When I said that I got a lower rate, they did not believe me and would not change the rate. Luckily I had the printout of the confirmation and so they had no choice but to honor it. I ask for my package vouchers and they said that since the e-mail confirmation did not list the package, they could not give it to me. I tried to explain they must have missed it since they had the wrong rate. I even spoke to a manager. All to no avail.
Bottom line, get your confirmation from the Venetian in writing and with all the amenities listed, including the number of beds, otherwise they will not trust you.
