We stayed at the Venetian for a girls trip. We reserved a Bella Suite, which was beautiful, but it looked similar to an Embassy Suites room. Two Queen beds and an entertainment center. You step down into the living room which has a sofa bed, another TV, a desk with fax, and a small table for eating.
Check in was a little long. They did apologize though and did their best to speed up the remainder of check in. Whenever you call and ask a question from the room, they use your name which was a nice personal touch.
As far as eating, its nice because they have a little cafe that serves a good variety of food 24 hours a day. Perfect at 4am when you've danced up an appetite. The food court has a good selection of eateries (Krispy Kreme, Mexican food, Burger joint, Bagel shop, chinese, Haagen Daas)
There is quite a distance from the lobby to the elevators to get to your room. So be prepared for a little trek as you tote all your luggage thru the casino. Be prepared to show your room key to enter the elevators.
The Venetian is in a good spot on the strip. Immediate walking distance from the Mirage, Treasure Island, Ceasars Palace. We were too lazy to walk the strip, so we caught a bus to the other end near MGM,New York, New York, etc. The bus was only $2 which beat the $10 fare of a taxi, and it even included transfers. If you need a taxi or limo, you're in luck. The hotel will get you transportation in less than a few minutes. We forgot to arrange a way to get back to the airport when we left. Within 3 minutes the hotel got us a limo that was a very good price! $35 and the driver was so pleasant and helpful. The staff was always opening doors for us and offering to take pictures. Of course tips are accepted, but not required. Smiling faces were a norm to see.
The bathroom was spectacular with a separate shower and tub. Double sinks, vanity and separate toilet area. They gave you all the usual toiletries plus a few extras like a mini sewing kit. We didn't use the maid service one day, and it was nice to see outside the door, they left us a huge bag of fresh towels in assorted sizes. That was a nice touch.
Advance warning.....do not remove anything from the mini bar. If you pick anything up YOU WILL BE CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY, even if you put it back unopened!!! There is a small sign on the door, but not big enough to notice before you touch anything. We learned our lesson when 6 things were charged to our room since we were just looking around. To be fair, they did credit our room because we complained about the ridiculous charges since nothing was unsealed or opened.
The pool and spa area is nice, although it closes at 5PM which doesn't make any sense because you can't sit in the jacuzzi at night and look at the stars. You have to pay $50 a day to use the indoor Spa. Kind of pricey if you ask me.
The club downstairs "Venus" is open until 4AM, and they played good music the entire night. They have a limited bar at the club, so don't ask for any exotic drinks, they only have the basics.
The casino isn't very big if you are a gambler. I'm not so it didn't bother me at all. But if you're looking for a huge casino, this isn't it.
Overall, we had a blast and loved the hotel. I will definitely stay there again.
