Spending my "New Millenium Weekend" at the Venetian will be a fond memory for me. The Venetian's decor, spectacular hotel and casino layout, superb dining, and almost all hotel appointments were outstanding. The hotel staff was very friendly, cheerful and helpful. However I would have considered my stay a more cherished experience had it not been for the extremely long waits (up to 2 hours) for room and house keeping services, dining room service, long lines, etc. The poor hotel services (as it explained to me) was a direct result of the hotel management's inability to anticipate being fully occupied (how could they not during the millenium weekend?). Consequently, I was forced to endure the hardships and frustrations of staying at a highly overpriced hotel that could not deliver the "goods" because it was extremely understaffed. Throughout the weekend, I experienced shortages in essential items such as silverware, china, menu items ("soup of the day"?, poor water pressure, slow drink and cashier services in the gaming area, and gaming equipment malfunctions.
I feel my "Millenium Weekend" was stolen from me.
