I was in Venice 3 times in the past 9 months. Twice in Italy and once on the Las Vegas Strip (in February 2000)! In Italy you can see the garbage floating down the canals. Not so in Vegas. The water looks clean enough to drink!
The rooms at The Venetian are a minimum of 780 square feet, all suites! Huge bathrooms, a great place to stay if you can afford it. (Of course you should always check for specials before you book any Vegas Hotel Room. There is always some promotion going on somewhere.) The check-in is easy. The staff all courteous and the dining superb! Las Vegas has almost as many premier restaurants as Los Angeles or New York.
Upscale is the word for the Venetian. I never gamble on the strip, and all the casinos are more or less then same. This casino is a big one, well laid out, but just how many ways can you arrange 3000 odd slot machines and 100 table games?
My guess is that temporarily Las Vegas is being overbuilt. We have been going there since McCarran Airport was just a quonset hut in the Desert!
This hotel in the last word in luxury and ambiance, until the next one goes up!
