| kh98's Full Review: Millenium Hilton |
We stayed here on a friday night in November 2003. We made the reservations the night before as we wanted to stay another night in New York and didn't want to stay in the loud hotel we were presently staying in. We were surprised to get a low rate of $199 since Holiday Inn was offering rooms at the same rate. The room amenities were pretty generous, Neutrogena shampoo, conditioner, showercap, sewing kit, vanity kit (cotton balls, q-tips, and I think there was a shoe polishing cloth), and mouthwash. The tv was a large flatscreen. The view was of Ground Zero as it is right across from the site. Since we arrived so late the check-in process was very quick. But the next day, the elevators were super slow. I waited about 3-4 minutes only to find the elevator full. I think the front desk staff said they had recently renovated. Century 21 (discount designerwear department store) is right next door so it was nice to shop in the morning, and bring back the purchases to the hotel to drop off, rather than carrying the purchases all day long. This hotel seemed to have mostly tourists and not many business people. The room was very clean and the hotel looked new. A lot of people were checking out so we had to wait a while.
