| umcroat's Full Review: Shoreham Hotel |
I stayed at the Shoreham for two nights while on a business trip and found this hotel to be perfect for short stays.
The location is great - it is located less than half a block from Avenue of the Americas.
I also found the staff to be very friendly (not to mention the free champagne you can get in the lobby at all times).
The rooms are small, but very clean. The bed was comfortable and you have a decent number of TV channels (on a flat, wide screen TV). There is also a Bose radio in the room.
The shower is probably the best feature of the room. There are three shower heads which can work simultaneously.
I ordered room service for breakfast one morning. As at all hotel in New York City, it was rather expensive ($20 for an egg and ham omlet), but the food was above average for a hotel.
There is also a bar, but I did not get any drinks there. The bar did seem to be pretty popular though. There is also an outdoor bar that is part of the hotel restaurant which seems to be a popular happy hour place for businessmen in the City (and it is very, very expensive - $9 beer anyone?).
My only problem with the hotel was that they accidently charged me for phone calls which I didn't make. However, the hotel took those off my bill, no questions asked.
