Pros: Elegant Lobby, Must have been great in 1920's
Cons: Water dripping from ceiling, dumpy rooms, I had to leave
The Bottom Line: If you love hotels are that are ridding on a reputation as old a the New York sewers, you'll love the Waldorf

I had heard the Waldorf was old, worn, and dumpy; but I just thought I was talking to a string of hotel snobs. Sadly, I was not. The Waldorf is a dump.
Yes, the lobby looks nice, but the room I got was terrible. I had requested high-speed internet access. Upon arrival I confirmed that the room did, in fact, have high-speed internet access. So, I went to the room on the 7th floor.
The elevator opened and the musty smell of mold was quite potent...but it could have been asbestos coming from the RIPPED OUT CEILING THROUGHOUT THE 7TH FLOOR. It was disgusting. There was water dripping from the ceiling as well. Considering this was the condition under which SARS was passed in a Hong Kong tenament, I found it shocking that the hotel would even rent rooms on the floor. They should be embarassed to show the floor and ashamed to rent it!!!
To top it off, when I got to the room...it didn't have high-speed internet access.
DO NOT STAY HERE EVER!!!
