Pros: Great location, close to shopping, convention centers and the mountains
Cons: View of the parking lot (smelled like sewage) & located far from the main lobby
The Bottom Line: Affordable, clean, conveniently located and somewhat luxurious hotel for a fair price

| grygomaca's Full Review: Little America Hotel And Towers |
I stayed at the Little America for 4 days/3 nights for a business trip recently.
View: The view from outside the hotel is lovely, mountains from side to side. But the view from my room was unfortunate, just of a parking lot. The hotel stands in the shadow of the palace-like Grand America.
Room Location: The main area of the hotel would have been nice. My room was located quite a distance from the main lobby, so it was a far walk to eat, shop, exercise and check in/out.
Room Details: My room was a standard/garden room with 2 double beds, a bathroom, seperate sink area, tv in armoire, desk and a few chairs. It was nicely decorated and very comfortable. There was a mini-fridge in the bathroom, which I found a little odd. The shower head was terrible. But the soap and lotion were great. Bathroom did look dated though.
Hotel Location: Little America is centrally located and is only 2 blocks from the Salt Palace Convention Center, where my business event was held. Everything is a short distance away...great restaurants, businesses and shopping. The airport is only 15 minutes away as well.
Offerings: The hotel exercise room was super, I am a fitness buff and have to get my workouts in, even when I'm away on business. I was able to do it no problem there. I didn't use the indoor and outdoor pools or the hot tub, but they looked nice. The hotel has 2 restaurants. One cafe style with delightful breakfasts and the other is a steakhouse. The steakhouse has the best steak I've had in a long time. It also features a sports bar with great appetizers/snacks.
Shopping: The hotel has several nice shops. A small convenience type of store, with great postcards. A women's apparel shop, very over the top and pricey. Same goes for the men's apparel shop. Then there is a jewelry/collectible shop, also overpriced in my opinion. And last but not least, a gift shop where I found some nice souvineers and gifts. Also located about 5 minutes from the hotel is The Gateway, a lovely open air mall with any store you could think of, movies, a planetarium, etc.
In conclusion, I enjoyed my stay at the Little America. It was pleasant. Next time, I'll try the Grand America (just across the street)...but Little America is definitely a cost-effective option. Convenient, clean and with a lot of great amenities.
