Pros: Great Hotel, Great Prices
Cons: Staff could be nicer
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend it highly to anyone that asked. However, watch out for the desk staff, they can be a little crabby. Have a good time!

| kleapatra's Full Review: Gold Coast Hotel & Casino |
I have been to Vegas on several occasions, and have stayed from downtown to the tip of the strip. This past time, Christmas 2002, we stayed at the Gold Coast. My husband, ten-year-old son, and I had a blast. The "boys" are into bowling, movies and arcades. They had all three. We are into eating cheap-but good. They had that too. They also had free shuttle rides to their other hotels, and we loved the amenities as those hotels also - Big Al's Oyster Bar was EXCELLENT as is the Monterey Room. The rooms were clean, bug-free, and freshly remodeled. Our no-smoking room didn't smell, and the beds were comfortable. I didn't want to be close to the strip, because we were planning on seeing more of the "landscape" and spending time doing other things in town with the locals. This hotel accommodated that beautifully. Next to the Rio, behind Caesars and over Route 15, it was only a 5 minute walk to the strip, but far enough away that we weren't inundated with people. I would highly recommend this hotel to those who want a quieter experience while still being able to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer.
