| cblyon's Full Review: Gold Coast Hotel & Casino |
My husband and I traveled to Vegas for the first time last year in May and had no clue what we were in for, as we live in rural Alabama. My brother-in-law had made all the arrangements for us and so since we were traveling with an infant he booked us at the Gold Coast. It did not have all the glitz and glamour of some of the other casino hotels in the area but was a rather nice hotel all the same.
We toured all around Vegas that first afternoon and then came back to the Gold Coast for the evening. It was wonderful. We took turns staying with the baby in the room and three of us at a time went down to the casino. They have a childcare center but I just couldn't leave the baby there. He was only 5 months old. Between us we played from about 9pm till 3am on two rolls of nickels. I couldn't believe that the payout was good enough to keep us playing that long but it was.
The hotel area was clean and neat and they provided a crib for the baby (something I am finding is not standard with many hotels.) The rooms were priced at a very reasonable rate. Actually I think it was about $39 per night during the week. That's reasonable no matter where you are. The staff was courteous and it was a wonderful experience all in all.
If I were to go back to Vegas I would probably stay here again simply for the fact that I had such a wonderful experience previously and also I prefer the nice hotel versus the theme hotel. We visited all of those but I just wasn't impressed.
There is no place on Earth like Vegas and you will probably never see so much glitter in any one location other than there but if you want a nice place to stay........Stay at the Gold Coast.
