Pros: Food
Cons: 21 and over for clubs
The Bottom Line: If the weather outside is too hot (summer) or too cold (winter) you'll still find plenty to do inside!

| tagertale's Full Review: Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino |
This is, in my opinion, the best hotel in Las Vegas that I have ever had the fortunate opportunity to be a guest at. From the moment you walk in the doors, the wonderful theme of Mardi Grad hits you with such enthusiasm that you want to party all night long.
Let's begin with location. Even though it is not directly on The Strip...you are just 5 minutes walking distance from it. There is actually advantage to being of The Strip; you do not have to deal with extremely heavy traffic going to and from your hotel.
I last stayed there in March '00 for spring break. Check-in was easy and the rooms are absolutely extravagant. It's a great place for an intimate stay with a significant other or for a family adventure. All rooms are suites...with a door in between the rooms. An interesting feature included in each room is a window that piers out into the room from the shower so you can still enjoy the evening television news while getting ready for a night out on the town.
Now for entertainment. Yes, you should go see the sights, but if the weather outside is not to your liking you can always stay and enjoy the night clubs, shows, restaurants and buffets, spa, casino, and shopping at Masquerade Village. First, there are two night clubs: Club Rio for dancing and music and the VooDoo Lounge for more low key entertainment and cocktails. You can also always look forward to shows at Rio and in Masquerade village they have the sky parade. You never know, you maybe walking around the casino and next thing you know you are asked to be in the Mardi Grad sky parade where the floats fly in the sky. And of course, keeping with the theme, there are plenty of beads to go around.
On to the food. There are 14 restaurants, including two fabulous buffets and a wine tasting experience at the Wine Cellar. They have every thing from Italian to Sea Food to a good old 50's style diner. But of all the options, if you are really hungry and want all these foods in one stop go to the Carnival World Buffet. it literally offers every type of food in the world, or it seems like it.
Finally I have to include the swimming facilities. Unfortunately the pools were not the hot spot when I was there but let me tell you during the summer time it must be a great place to be. 4 waterfalls, 4 swimming pools, a bar and a restaurant. You could stay out there all day.
Give the Rio a try next time you come to Vegas and you won't regret it
