Pros:Gourmet food galore
Cons:Long lines
The Bottom Line: You will not go wrong with the Bellagio Buffet. In Fact, you'll not find a better Buffet in Vegas and afterward you'll not mind the expense either.
So many buffets, so little time! I've been a frequent visitor to Las Vegas ever since I was a youngster in the 60's. Needless to say I've tried just about every buffet on the strip from the horrible (Circus Circus) to the mediocre (Flamingo Hilton & Tropicana) to the cream of the crop which I'm about to review. The Bellagio is the real thing! As a hotel there is no comparison. I've stayed there and love it! Yes it is pricey but you get what you pay for. But if your like me and prefer to save dollars and stay cheaply in Vegas while saving your hard won dough for fine dining at a reasonable price, the Bellegio Buffet is your ticket.
Their lunch buffet runs about $14 and their Champagne brunch is about $19 but the food is well, well worth the investment.
If your a fan of cold seafood salads, look no further. Every thing from smoked Salmon to large peeled shrimp to Herring salad to Octopus salad is there. The soups are just awesome. I tried their curry flavored creme of potato soup and I went back for four more cups! It was that good! As for meats, the prime rib is the most tender of any buffet and never overcooked. They even serve Teppanyaki style steak strips. What a treat. Now I don't have to go to Benihana's and order the same thing. I think I had three servings of those steak strips. And for dessert, only the Bellagio serves Mexican custard flan and Creme Brulee!
I no longer search for the perfect buffet in Vegas. I have found it in the Bellagio. Treat yourself out and do get there early because the lines do get long and the wait can be up to 30 minutes. But for quality of food and service..you wont be disappointed.
UPDATE:
Prices have gone up recently for the Bellagio buffet (about $2.00) and food quality is still superb as ever. I had the pleasure recently of trying their New Year's Eve Buffet (Highly priced at $45!) It was all you can eat Lobster tails and Beef Wellington! I've never had quite a dining experience like that before. I could only manage three lobster tails (both grilled and steamed). Needless to say I'll be back again on New Years Eve 2002!
