Pros: good value for the package; good buffet, less crowds.
Cons: at end of strip; annoying people with offers.
The Bottom Line: The Excalibur is not just for families with kids. Adults could save a lot by staying there. Less noisy and no people handing out porno ads there.

| gomar's Full Review: Excalibur Hotel And Casino |
I got the hotel round trip air package 5 night stay at the Excalibur. It has a medieval castle theme and facade. The hotel is huge, easy to get lost or lose someone in it. I stayed in tower I, no view of the strip besides the towers. The check-in lady didnt speak English too well. She offered a room on the 27th floor, but no view of the strip? why? I settled for the 10th floor. Be aware of which elevator you get into, a lot of people ended up in one that doesnt go to their floor. The room was good. Too bad the windows didnt open a bit. 2 lamps didnt turn on, I complained, and they were fixed. Maid service was good. I didnt like the soft pillows. The casino itself was clean, and a lot of people seemed to be winning and having fun. I didnt see the knights jousting show, or whatever, it's just people on horses ramming into each other with sticks. Those people at the entrances pushing their offers were REALLY annoying... GET RID OF THEM!
The buffet was good; self-serve drinks fountains. No lines either. At the Trop the buffet was much worse, and the server brings the drinks to you, as in all casino buffets in A.C. Easy access to the Luxor and NYNY. But no entrance unto the tram, only an exit from it. It's a personal preference if you like the fact the Excalibur is almost at the end of the strip. You get a good view of the strip from the overpass. You dont get a lot of people at the bus stop, and fewer tourists than in the middle of the strip. I liked photographing the Excalibur in the eve.
However, I must say a bed is a bed; a TV is a TV. Why anyone would pay much more for a wide screen is beyond me. Are you in Vegas to watch TV or to do Vegas? Thus, would I stay at the Excalibur again? If others are full or too expensive, yes. Would I stay at any of the hotel/casinos on the strip? On my budget probably not, as a 5 night stay at a motel goes for $89.
PS: when you rate a hotel, what are you comparing it to? A cheap motel, or a $250/night lux suite at the Bellagio? Be fair here. And keep in mind, you only spend 6-8hrs in your room mostly sleeping.
