If you're under the age of thirty and you find yourself in Las Vegas, the place to be for gambling and drinking is the Hard Rock Casino. Hard Rock differs from the other casinos in Las Vegas in that it is not unbearably boring, rather its more of a place to go and party.
For example, if you're in say, The Mirage, yes you can gamble to your hearts desire and drink for free, but the atmosphere is rather dull. Standing around, waiting your turn, listening the the maddening sound of the slot machines which you never really become immune to, rather they grow more and more ear-piercing as the night progresses. Hard Rock, however, is more of a meeting spot, where everyone comes together to hear music, lose money and get drunk.
The Hard Rock Casino is similiar to its Cafe's in the way there is celebrity memorabilia displayed everwhere. Everything from Axl Rose to Brittany Spears, there is enough to look at to keep even the most sober and anti-gambling person busy for a while. There is also music being played the entire time, all different types, and pretty loud too. It just keeps things feeling more club/bar and less boring craps tables.
The people who come to Hard Rock are also a lot younger than in the other casinos; it's rare to find someone over 35 in the place. The bar is in the middle of the casino in the round, with tables and slots surrounding it, and the drinks are pretty strong.
I lived in Las Vegas for two years, and I have hit every casino on the Strip. Hard Rock is definetly my favorite, I've always had a good time there, even when I wasn't gambling or drinking. I've heard also that a lot of celebrities choose Hard Rock while in Las Vegas as well, (Brad Pitt) thought I cannot say that for certain as I have never seen anyone famous there myself. I MAY have seen Anthony Kiedus (Red Hot Chili Peppers) there, but I am still not sure if it was him or not.
To sum it all up, if you're in your twenties and looking for a good time, I would definetly check it out. There's no cover and its fun to just look at all the memorabilia, the bartenders, waitresses and dealers are all pretty chill, and the and the drinks are always free if your standing near a craps table.
