Just got back from a 3 day stay at the Las Vegas Hilton. It's a lovely and elegant place and the room we had which I surmise was a standard room was large, with king size bed plus a sofa, and decorated beautifully.
It was kept clean, but had a leaking faucet in the bathtub which we reported but was never fixed, and it took a minimum of 10 minutes to get hot water in the sink. We reported that too, but nothing happened.
Dinner buffet was ample. Prices a little high for what you get. Who needs a $8.95 breakfast. Dinner was $13.95. I would rate it a 7 out of 10. Fresh shrimp, and a complete carving area of roast beef, ham, turkey, etc. could please any palate. Slots were very unkind to us, but we did see lots of people getting jackpots paid off.
Only complaint is the location. If you don't have a car, you are really captive! There is nothing around within walking distance. We did have a car, but it was such a long walk to get to the garage, we stayed at the hotel most of the time. I would not choose to stay there again. I would rather be at a hotel on the strip with closer proximity to other hotels and restaurants.
Coffee shop seemed rather expensive. We did not eat any meals there. There is good entertainment around (did not see any lounge shows) and it was not very crowded when we went. All in all, it was a lovely hotel, but you have to consider its drawbacks too.
