So it's not shaped like a pyramid. No, it doesn't have any fancy fountains or fire shows or pirate ships. And yeah, it's not RIGHT on the Strip. But aside of this, the LV Hilton is a great bet for a reasonably priced stay in Vegas, for business or pleasure.
ROOMS:
The rooms here are great: large, clean, tastefully appointed, and comfortable. There are king beds in the one-bed rooms and queens in the two-beds. The one-bed room also has a divan, which is great for lounging, watching tv, or having friends over before heading down to the Strip.
The bathrooms are almost more impressive than the room. They have dual sinks with mirrors, a vanity with a stool, and a large bath/shower. The bath was nice and deep, I'm about 6' so it was nice to have a bath where my knees didn't stick out.
FOOD:
The hotel restaurants are all excellent. Paradise Cafe is a great spot for lunch, and the Benihana Grill is a must-experience. The room service and catering departments are top-notch as well.
STAR TREK:
This is the best part about staying here. The Star Trek Experience is a great show for Trekkers and non-Trekkers alike. The attraction includes a History of the Future Museum and a ride on the Enterprise. If you don't watch Trek, the museum will teach you everything you need to know, and if you DO watch, you'll love the museum, and be WOWED by the ride!
TRANSPORTATION:
This is one of the few downsides of the hotel... it's a pain to get to the strip or downtown. Parking is plentiful and easy if you have a car, but if you're cabbing it, it can be a hassle as lines stretch pretty far at peak times.
My suggestion: walk out to the road and flag a cab down out there, or even call to have one meet you somewhere nearby. It's a short walk, but a big time-saver. You can also get a hotel limo for $45, a good deal if you have a lot of people, especially going to the airport or if you need to drive around and pick other people up.
All in all, this hotel is a pretty good bet. It's close to the convention center, has tons of rooms so availability is often higher than the strip, is good priced, and has great gaming plus Star Trek! The plusses of staying here definitely outweigh the only major negative: getting around.
