Our very first trip to Las Vegas was to see a Jimmy Buffett concert in 1998. We had reservations at the Rodeway Motel, simply because it was cheap. However, when we got there, we decided there was absolutely no way we could stay there. To put it plainly--it was scary!

On a whim, we called the Hilton. We ended up with a room for only $70. It was first-class accommodations. The front desk staff was courteous, the room was clean, and, best of all, there weren't any bugs around. We were able to go to the concert in a much better mood than we had started in.

We didn't gamble much in the casino, but it seemed nice. We ate at the Sunday champagne brunch, which I'd highly recommend. It was a little pricey, but it was also the best buffet we've had in Vegas. I've also heard that the Star Trek The Experience is great, even if you're not a Trekkie. We just didn't have time to go.

The only thing we didn't like about the Las Vegas Hilton was their valet parking. They managed to break two keys off in our ignition, and then they tried to say it was our fault. We used the self-park after that, and it was just as close and convenient.

The nicest part about staying there was that we are now on their mailing list, and they send us info from time to time about great deals and special promotions. Which means, we'll probably end up staying there the next time we make it to Vegas.
