The Las Vegas Hilton is located a bit off of the strip, so it doesn't have the greatest location in the world. However, if you are visiting Vegas and you are a Trekkie, you MUST visit the Star Trek Experience.
Admission to the Experience is $15.95 per person. This entitles you to browse the museum to your heart's content, as well as ride the ride. Take your time in the museum, because once you enter the ride you can't go back to the museum without paying admission again.
The museum is great. It has a timeline ranging from when earth first encountered the Vulcans after warp speed was discovered, through the original Star Trek w/ Captain Kirk, Spock, et. al., to the current Voyager timeline. There are costumes, weapons with detailed descriptions of who used them and for what purpose, all the gadgets...everything a trekkie would love!
I don't want to give away the ride. I thought it was a little cheesy, and some of the actors forgot their lines, but it really was kind of like being on a Star Trek ship.
Afterwards, be sure to stop by Quark's Bar. My brother and I shared a Warp Core Breach...the biggest drink you have ever seen that smokes because it has lots of dry ice in it. It is pricey at $19.00, but well worth it. It's a fruity drink with a variety of rum in it. They have tons of other drinks too, such as the Riker Rita and the James Tea Kirk. The potato soup is very excellent.
A word of caution about the Romulan Ale... first, it is cheaper in the gift shop than inside Quarks. Second, don't drink this stuff in the restaurant, enjoy it AWAY from the public. You will notice this beer is blue, and as such it will turn your lips BLUE, your tongue BLUE, your teeth BLUE... this stuff is FULL of food coloring. It is more of a novelty item than a real beer.
You will love the Star Trek Experience. I don't think much about the rest of the Las Vegas Hilton. It is an older casino, doesn't have much choice in the way of good affordable food--you will have more fun in the newer Strip casinos.
