You can't miss Luxor! The black pyramid stand out, even in Las Vegas, and is one of the first things you will see when your plane lands at McCarren International Airport, which is practically in Luxor's backyard.
That isn't a bad thing, necessarily. If you just have a short time in Las Vegas a close-by airport location can save substantial time crawling along in Strip traffic.
Kids will love Luxor for its cool shape, its elevators that rise on an angle (very cool) its outstanding arcade, its many casual restaurants and its IMAX shows. It is fun to wander around in the resort.
Rooms are fine, about average for a Las Vegas resort, and Luxor, once cut off from the heart of the Strip, is now surrounded by the city's newest resorts, including Mandalay Bay. Also nearby is Excalibur, which caters to kids and families more than any other resort on the strip does.
The biggest drawback we found to a stay at Luxor is that it seemed no matter where we were going on the grounds, it took a very long time to get there. The resort is not terribly well laid out.
