I was shocked at the size and beauty of the Luxor just seeing it from the plane! The building reflects the blazing desert sun as though the structure was made of black marble. The size of the casino is enormous, a visual feast for the eyes. The architectural triumph of engineering alone is worth the trip to see the casino. I've never been to Egypt to see the real pyramids, but I did feel like I'd finally come to terms with this desire when I saw the Luxor. And, I hadn't even been inside! The decor, logically, is like an Egyptian tomb of the pharaohs. The walls are stunning replications of murals found in the tombs. The colors leap out at you, vibrant, shimmering, and glossy. Towering pillars, carved in the images of pharaohs and their queens, grace the perimeters of the gambling floor, like gigantic silent sentinels. They are huge, full-color, crowned monarchs in the traditional positions of the artistic murals so famous in Egyptian books. I was so busy running around the casino looking at the unbelievable architecture, I never even dropped a quarter in a slot. The rooms are arranged on circular balconies with doors that overlook the entire fantastic interior. Great place for non-gamblers and gamblers alike. Plush.
