We stayed at the Monte Carlo the week of December 13th and were very pleased. We checked in at 8:30 in the morning and got a room immediately. The rooms were comfortable and clean and check in was painless!
The casino was not very busy which is good and bad. The good part was you could get on any slot machine or table you wanted. The bad part was that payouts were not very good. Good slot contest for the general public.
Slots consisted of all the fun ones, good nickel slots, quarter slots and dollar slots. They did have a nice area where the high roller slots were.
All the tables were laid out nicely and they had several minimum ranges.
We ate at Blackstone’s Steak house, which was excellent. Service was great as was the food. We ate at the Italian restaurant, which was so-so. The service was poor and food was acceptable. We ate breakfast at the cafe, which was very good, and ate at the buffet, which was good. Food could have been warmer. They also had a food court with McDonalds, a sub shop, ice cream shop, and I think ribs (not sure on that one). Did have ice cream, which was exceptional.
I really liked the way the casino and hotel were laid out. It was very easy to find things and you didn't get lost. They had a tram to Bellagio and were located close to many other casinos.
We usually go to Vegas ever 18 months or so and found the Monte Carlo to be one of the best casinos. Well ventilated!
