| Candice923's Full Review: Paris Las Vegas |
Las Vegas is amazing. As soon as you take your left onto The Strip from Tropicana Boulevard, you enter an entirely different world. On your right, you see the palace of Aladdin, where the 40 theives run about in the long corridors. On the left, you find the Belaggio, where fountains dance to different music every 15 minutes. And, of course, you see a mini-replica of the Eiffel Tower. (Though calling it "mini" may be a bit silly...)
The Eiffel Tower, of course, marks the territory of Paris, the Las Vegas resort and casino with a bit of a French flair.
When you walk between the legs of the Eiffel Tower, you immediately enter the casino. Look up, and you'll find clouds painted on the ceiling. It's an exquisite casino, really. There are three different bars you can relax at, countless slot machines and an area for all kinds of table games. Of course, cocktail waitresses walk around in french-themed costumes, offering free cocktails to those playing slots and tables. I highly recommend getting a strawberry daquari in the Paris casino. I have yet to find a better one in Vegas!
The hotel lobby is set back from the street, but easily accessible through the casino. Valet parking is available, of course, and there is also a parkin structure between Paris and Bally's. The hotel lobby is absolutely exquisite. There are high ceilings and flowers everywhere. You can't help but stare at the fantastic marble work. I have found the hotel staff to be nothing but polite. And, hey, on your way to the guest elevators, stop at the Park Place Connection Booth on your right so you can sign up for a free card.
The rooms are really fantastic. I've stayed there twice with my mother, and have found nothing but comfort and luxury. Regardless of what tower you stay in, the rooms are beautiful. The bathrooms have a separate shower and bath tub. There is a large dressing area. Plenty of furniture with drawers for your belongings - as well as a personal safe - are arranged throughout the room so that you have the most space. And the beds are so comfortable!
Hungry? Good. There are a ton of places to eat in the halls of Paris. My favorite is Le Village, the buffet boasted by Paris. You can find Le Village off the cobblestone path on your way to Bally's. (It's on your left coming from Paris.) I have eaten at a lot of buffets, but Le Village blows them all away. My husband declared, "This is the best buffet I've ever been to!" the last time we were there. You can also find a creperie, pastry store, italian restaurant and chinese restaurant, along with the room service you can order to your room.
Let's say that you're winning on the machines or at the table and you've got a couple of extra bucks you'd like to spend... Well, Paris has plenty of shopping for all tastes. Of course, there is a tasteful souvineir shop where you can buy stuffed animals, T-shirts, glasses and whatever else. Walk down the hallway a little more, and that's when you find the serious shopping. A jewelry store and kiosk, clothing boutiques, and even a cigar kiosk. Truthfully, whenever I find myself ahead, I purchase a cigar for my husband. Believe me, they're pricey! They range from $5 to over $100 for one cigar! You can also buy sets and accessories.
The spa by Mandera (sp?) is unreal. My mother and I were winning like crazy, so we decided to get facials. The minimum facial costs $125. You also receive all-access to the spa area, which includes saunas, jacuzzis, and an exercise room. You also have an attendant that answers to your every whim. While the facial was extremely expensive, it was worth every penny.
Paris is adjoined to Bally's by a long tunnel that makes you feel as though you're walking through some small streets in France. It's quite charming, really.
I've never had to pay for a room at Paris. My mother is a member of the Park Place Connecion (as am I) and gets a ton of offers, usually including a free room. I know that they range from $79 - $129 in the off-season and $119 - $189 in the peak season.
If you're not staying at Paris, it's definitely a place that you want to visit while you're on your trip. GO TO THE BUFFET!! You won't be sorry.
