| hephep1's Full Review: Disneys Caribbean Beach |
If your family can't decide between a Caribbean Vacation, and a trip to Walt Disney World, Stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and Make everyone happy.
The Caribbean Beach Resort has so much to do that you could spend your entire trip at the resort, without even going to any of the parks. But, it isn't likely that your kids will let you get away with it.
The Caribbean Beach Resort is one of the biggest resorts at Walt Disney World. It is divided into 5 Caribbean Villages. Martinique, Trinidad,Jamaica, Aruba, and Barbados. The villages surround a beautiful lake.
The food court has several different counters. Each offers different foods. The Chinese food counter has never been open while we were there. I usually go for the Italian counter. Some of them offer kids meals, which are served in Sand Pails, with a shovel and a surprise. Make sure to get a refillable mug. They come in 10 different colors. There will be no arguing over who's cup belongs to whom.
Just outside of the food court, is a water recreation area. The large pool is designed as a Pirate Castle. There is a water slide, a spa and a kid's wading pool. There is a bridge that over looks the pool.It is amazing. No attention to detail has been missed.
The white sand beach is a great spot to watch the Illuminiations Fireworks display from Epcot. During the day, you cant rent paddle boats, or sail boats, by the hour. They don't allow swimmers in the water.
The rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort are in the Moderate range. They are comparable to Dixie Landings and Port Orleans Resort. The rates are the same all year. They range from $124.00 to $189, depending on the view from your room.
Be warned each room has a mini bar. They have a clear window right in the front. Your kids can see Disney Character PEZ dispensers in the window. If you want to avoid a big scene, have it removed before you check in.
If you decide to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, make your reservations early, as this resort is included in many Disney Travel packages. It does fill up far in advance. But,if you can get a room, you will love it.
