Pros: atmosphere, themed pool, kids loved it
Cons: a bad room location means a long walk
The Bottom Line: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a nice treat up from the usual motel-like accomodations. They have a great swimming area and a decent food court.

| AliventiAsylum's Full Review: Disneys Caribbean Beach |
Disney's Caribbean Beach resort is a "moderate" resort that is a treat to stay at. The openness, colors, and white sand beaches give off a very un-crowded feeling. Since it was just closed down completely for an extensive rehabilitation, staying here is now almost like staying at a brand-new resort.
The rooms each contain two double beds, a bathroom with the sink outside, a television armoire, a small dresser, and a table with two chairs. They are decorated with a distinctly tropical feel. It is spacious enough that a family of four will be comfortable here. Any more than four and you will need an additional room. Be warned that Disney does not guarantee connecting rooms unless there will be less than one person over 18 in each room. In other worlds, two adults travelling with 3 kids would not necessarily qualify for guaranteed connecting rooms.
There are six "islands" which contain the rooms. Each "island" has it's own quiet pool. The "islands" named Martinique and Trinidad North are located closest to the Old Port Royale themed pool area and food court, with parts of Aruba and Jamaica being just a walk across the bridge away. Trinidad South and Barbados are the furthest away - a room in either of these can mean a long walk to the food court.
The main building contains the food court and a sit-down restaurant. We enjoyed spending an afternoon at the Old Port Royale Pool where our kids could use the slide and we could enjoy the jacuzzi after a morning of walking in the parks. There is a poolside bar with drinks and snacks. Usually there are a few vendors out there with treats for the kids. My daughters like getting their hair wrapped!
The food court is your typical fare of hot dogs, hamburger and pizza at night and everything from bakery items to pancakes in the morning. You can also buy a re-fillable mug and get as much coffee and soda during your stay (and any subsequent ones) for the flat fee. Pizza delivery to the room is also available.
Each of the "islands" has its own bus stop. It doesn't really matter for the order - the first on in the morning may have to go through the other six stops, but they'll be the first ones off on the way home! The Disney busses have to make the rounds of each island, so plan on being patient. The resort is located closest to the Epcot area of attractions, but it is not with walking distance. The only option is either taking the bus or your own car.
The high season rate for these rooms is around $159 depending on your view. There are many discounts available and I've heard of people getting rooms here as cheap as $89.
