Pros:Secluded feel but right in the best spot in Cancun. Beautiful beaches and fabulous rooms.
Cons:Wish the evening food selection was better, seafood vs. Italian and Mexican
The Bottom Line: Fabulous Hotel with superb service and a prime location. Book it if you see a good deal (may need to hit the town for better dinner selection and spa services).
What a great resort. Everything you need is right there. My favorite part about the hotel was the room. I love the all tile floor (no gross carpet to step on) and the separate dining area in the room. I don't know if we had a standard room, but I'm assuming we did. It's so nice to get room service for breakfast when you can actually eat at a real table and chairs. Our friends got a suite and it was unbelievable. The pool area is very nice and I love the way the resort is sort of on a tip, so you really don't see other hotels on either side of you.
The location is great as well (walk right to the main flea market for shopping and Coco Bongo for dancing). It was nice to not have to take a taxi everywhere like you have to do from other resorts I have stayed at (Le Meridien & Marriott Casa Magna). Both are great hotels but further away from everything we like.
Lacking at FACB is the spa. Not as impressive as others (Le Meridien's is fabulous). Their spa is worth a trip no matter where you are staying in Cancun.
The poolside food and breakfast were great (though we haven't run into a Cancun resort where that wasn't the case). The dinner was more lacking. No real nice restaurant to eat at. We go to Cancun for the seafood, so while we were here we only ate out for dinner (didn't feel like Italian or Mexican, though obviously other visitors may want that).
Over all the resort is great. So, feel confident when booking at FACB, you won't regret it.
