Cons: Have not found one con to date.
GOING LARGE SCREEN
I recently attached my Dell PC to a 65” DLP HDTV for my father. The only issue I experienced was the Logitech keyboard dropped signal at approximately ten feet away. Of course the keyboard is an older Logitech that has served for several years flawlessly and still functions great today. However, signal distance is an issue therefore I elected to purchase the Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard.
I needed a keyboard that was not complicated, easy to hold and navigate, was wireless at a respectable distance, and encompassed some form of a mouse control. The Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard suited requirements as if it were a custom design.
Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard is sleek and slim, large 3.5” touch pad, operates on standard AA batteries, light weight, wireless range up to 33 feet (will above my 20 foot requirement), reasonablely priced at $40 dollars. Battery life is to be determined as the Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard acquisition is just under a month—experience with other Logitech keyboards provides any indication—battery life will be exceptional.
THE HARDSHIP OF INSTALLATION
Be forewarn of the hardship caused installing the Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard. You should pay very close attention as this will aid you in avoiding the pitfalls.
Step one: Open the box
Step two: Remove Keyboard
Step three: Pull to remove both battery saver tabs
Step four: Remove USB 2.0 dongle and insert into available port on computer. Use dongle extender should you have any signal issues.
Step five: Turn on computer and boot to desktop.
Step six: Enjoy your new k Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard.
Step seven: Function keys are ready to use out-of-the-box. Should you desire to change function key setting download software from Logitech.com.
After you endure this hardship of installation take a deep breath and relax. Laugh-Out-Loud!
If installation of the Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard takes you more than five minutes (which is considerablely less time in real life) you should repeat the above steps indefinitely.
Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard uses a very small USB 2.0 dongle that almost disappears once plugged into an USB port. Should for some unforeseen reason signal is hampered the keyboard has included in box a USB dongle extender approximately the size of a flashdrive. In my situation the extender was not necessary.
ON BOARD TRACKPAD
The on board trackpad is large and easy to use. One finger operation controls the cursor; tab the trackpad to click on a link. Two fingers sliding up or down perform a scroll function. Just below the trackpad are two regular left and right mice buttons.
Yes I highly recommend buying the Logitech K400 (920-003070) Wireless Touchpad Keyboard. A must have for anyone connecting a computer to a large screen HDTV. From Logitech a company I trust (I own six in use Logitech keyboards including this one being reviewed). I have never been disappointed with Logitech as they have excellent customer service also.
