Pros: easy time selection
We bought this B (black) model when our old Panasonic died. It was a little strange at first, but now I love it! It is much easier to enter time, just push the 1-6 button for times of 1-6 minutes. It starts immediately. If you want 1/2 minute, just push the "Start" button. Pushing "Start" 3 times yields 1 1/2 minutes, or push "3" and "Start" for 3 1/2 minutes, etc.
The noise issue.
This unit is noisier than our Panasonic was but I have come to like that because I can hear when it stops before the alarm starts beeping.
One thing I love that the Panasonic didn't do, is the light comes on when I open the door so I can see the interior for wiping out, etc.
This unit, although it is only a 1000 watt campared to our Panasonic 1200 watt, seems to heat better. For example, when making popcorn, 2 minutes is sufficient for one bag. The Panasonic required 2 1/2 minutes
One minus, the Panasonic turntable always stopped in the same position for even 1/2 minute settings. This one doesn't do that. A minor irritant. I found that I can place the cold cup with the handle to the back and in 2 minutes of heating my drink, the handle now faces me.
Everything else works much the same as our old one and is very intuitive. One accessory I have which I recommend, is a settable scale. I set the plate on the scale, zero it out, add the food, replace the plate on the scale, and then can see how many ounces I have for setting the microwave, like "fresh vegetables", "plate" etc.
