Adbusters is a refreshing alternative to the corporate perspective of other news and political magazines. Newsweek and Time just don't cut it!
Adbusters takes on pressing issues, using powerful words and poignant images. You are struck by not only the urgency and importance of the issue but the artistic and original layout of the magazine. You get a taste of what is really going on in the world. Yes, the read can be a bit depressing at times but one must applaud their straightforward approach. The quarterly arrival of my magazine is usually accompanied by conversation and debate. How many Times subscribers can say that.
There is definitely a lot of opportunity for Adbusters to channel the thoughts of its readers into more direct-action. Their website goes into details of "culture jamming" etc. I'd enjoy a basic listing of contacts for campaigns that are addressing these issues.
