This is one of the better teen magazines. It has some good real-life articles and some of the fashion and beauty tips are helpful. However, like so many other teen magazines, it can be somewhat hypocritical. One one page it will rave about "loving yourself" and "accepting your body the way it is" and, on the next, will print an ad for "Super Fat-Burning Pills" or "The Last Diet You'll Ever Have to Go On!" This magazine, among others, promotes low self-esteem by showing unrealistic size-2 models. Every once in a while, there will be a section about plus-size fashions. But they completely leave out the normal person! There are either plus-sizes or minus-sizes, nothing in the middle where the average girl is.
But, on the whole, this magazine is more realistic and less shallow than some other magazines I've seen. This is good to read if there's nothing better to do or in line at the grocery store.
