This magazine is a must for all musicians, but especially the bass player. It is insightful and it speaks our language. This magazine offers information on what is the best gear around, interviews with top notch musicians and covers all styles of music. For years, I would buy "Guitar For The Practicing Musician" and would try to make heads or tails on what would help me, in being a better musician. From a guitar player's point of view, not a bad magazine at all, but for us bass players...duh?
With "Bass Player", I no longer feel like a stranger. I have the magazine that I can relate to. Discussions on technique and style, are very helpful, as well as gear ratings. The interviews are also very good...shedding light on how the bass guitar, has elevated in style and importance, in modern music...by the people who've made it an acceptable and viable instrument. Bass players have never been given their proper due and "Bass Player" has finally done it. I highly recommend this magazine to all musicians, who want in depth information on the creative, talented musicians, who play the most underrated instrument...the bass.
