As an avid cook, I am always looking for a good recipe to try. In this age of computers, there are plenty of great recipes that you can find on foodtv.com or epicurious.com, but it's always fun to get my monthly issue of Bon Appetit. One of the best things about the magazine is that you can actually SEE what most of the recipes will look like when cooked. Most recipe websites simply give you the recipe. Also, there are great interviews (check out Emeril Lagasse this month at the back - BAM!) and restaurant reviews. There is an RSVP section for actual restaurant recipes that are interesting and creative. I have improved greatly as a cook since I began subscribing to Bon Appetit almost 2 years ago, as I have been challenged to try many new things. The magazine has also given me many ideas that have led to my own creativity when cooking without a recipe. This month, check out the cover recipe - goat cheese & arugula ravioli - it's next on my list to attempt!
