The Bottom Line: Great, every child should have a subscription.

| moki20's Full Review: Boomerang! Magazine |
The other day I asked my 8 year old daughter to name something beautiful in this world. Her response was immediate: Boomerang! Magazine. I asked her why, she mentioned the stories on these tapes or cd's. (We have the cassette tapes.) Then she told me that she 'learns' from the tapes. (Which is true; she 'convinces' her parents regularly about some fact she heard). Or she will come up with complicated words I never heard her use before. I'll ask her where she picked those up.. 'ooh Boomerang! Magazine' she'll answer. She says the tapes make her 'smarter'...
The amazing thing is that she started to listen to them when she was 4.5 years old. Which was way too young, but she got something out of them even though they were above her 'level'. She kept listening to them over and over again. (I would suggest the tapes for at least 6 years and older.)
At one time we got tapes full of just(beautiful) stories (called 'Sleepy Time Tales') created by David Strohm the 'inventor' of Boomerang!Magazine actually meant for children of 4 years and older. And now, after all these years, my child still treasures stories like 'Big Fella' who is in love with 'Sheila the Refrigerator' or she still sings songs with sentences like: "Something trusty, beats something new..." from another Sleepy Time Tale.
My daughter has the patience to listen to this audio magazine for hours. We hardly have the television on in our home and therefor cd's and tapes (in general) are sometimes 'heavily used'.
We give this audio magazine to her friends or cousins for their birthdays/ X- Mas presents and they appreciate them too! And my sister in law who drives her son back and forth to school for about 2 hours a day, also loves these tapes. It is true, the magazine is not just for children.
