The ten year old loves it! (Reply to this comment)

Interesting that the mother has so many issues with Boomerang but her child loves it! She is clearly not the target audience. It is for kids. But we all love it in my house.

Mrsquiet has an agenda (Reply to this comment)

As publisher of BOOMERANG! for 13 years, I was astounded to read your one "review." Then I read about the reviewer -- a self described Christian woman with army recruiter husband. Religion is not the focus of BOOMERANG! We leave that up to individual families. And we seek a balance in reporting. So if you need a religious angle on every story and your husband is an army recruiter, perhaps BOOMERANG isnt for you. Otherwise go to boomkids.com and listen for yourselves. Thanks

Carol, thank-you for your kind words, welcome, and advice.
Boomerang is a monthly audio magazine designed for kids between 6 and 12. The stories and music are prepared by adults, but presented by the same group of kids (including some sibling teams).
There are usually seven or eight 'segments' in each issue with almost 20 different segments that are heard regularly through the year (for example, jokes may be in each issue, but Dave Schmave the elevator operator appears in every other issue). The whole tape runs 70 minutes.
A subscription costs $59.40/yr with an introductory special of $43.95. You can find out more at their website: www.boomkids.com. Here they have a topic index, samples, and an assortment of opinions much more favorable than mine!
Thank-you, again!! ~Diane
